Pathetic, really pathetic Keef.
You get banned, and just come back under another account.
*plonk*

Don't piss him off, he'll start going around to other forums talking about how EEVBlog is a "scam" or something.

When I raised a red flag on that solar thingie (whose name shall never be spoken) people said rude things about me and nobody would listen

They probably didn't take him seriously for the exact same reason you wouldn't take a doctoral thesis seriously if it was printed in 18-point Comic Sans.

Well, Keef is at it again. He's been banned twice now and this is now his third account.
What a really sad person.

Why am I beginning to feel that his purpose is to ruin this "newly" formed Crowd Funded Projects (CFP) section, instead of just "casual" trolling around ?

Although its too early to tell, imo this CFP's popularity grows quite significantly since it was made just about few weeks ago, just look at the view counts and created posts/threads around. Not to mention many new faces started to post their 1st post here in CFP.

Just a thought.

I don't think so, he's just a serial pest who wants a platform to shout from.
In fact every platform, given that he's been banned from several other forums too.
He can waste his life trying to create more sock puppets account here, but they and his posts will just get deleted.

For my info, using Simple Machines forum software, does it ban simply user names or IP addresses?  I've not had luck with IP addresses on forums I run, but they are email based.  It would save a lot of labor if IP address bans existed.

SMF allows IP, email, and hostname ban trigger.
In Keef's case he has used a few dozen IP addresses in his posts.

It's not easy being a net kook in this post-Usenet world.

Sorry to hear, but glad you are better armed against problems.   Pro puppets know how to get around many tools.  In the end the only solution I had that worked regardless of their methods, but I don't have the traffic of this forum, was to moderate the whole group until the puppet tired out and went away.

There used to be a list of the top trolls on the net on Wikipedia that also described their techniques, but its not there anymore.  Instead:

On non static ip ISPs, just reboot the router. Every time I need to change my ip address... I just reboot my ADSL router.

Depending on the ISP the IP address you get on a reboot could well be fairly stable. But it's easy enough to wind up posting from several IPs because these days people often use several devices in different locations eg home/desktop/laptop/work/phone might all be different IP addresses.

It's not easy being a net kook in this post-Usenet world.

Now I'm reminded of Arthur T. Murray, a.k.a. Mentifex, who claimed to have written an incredible AI algorithm based on some never-adequately-explained theory of how the mind worked, and hawked his ideas all across Usenet.  If you want to know what kind of a guy Mr. Murray was, here's a representative quote:
Quote
The Mind.Forth and JavaScript source code implements the theory of mind. To the extent that the AI software works, it may validate the AI theory.
which is sort of like saying that I drive my car, and if my car works, it means I'm Mark Webber.
