IGG rough stats
« on: August 15, 2013, 04:30:34 pm »
So after a month of polling

23,687 unique projects
610 have been yanked (From the "ostro watch" to the "I want 10,000 dollars" campaigns)
9,044 have failed to reach there funding goal
1,006 have been funded
12,875 Are currently active

I will have to add a stat for how many are fixed vs flexible funding..

Cool data.

Is it searchable anywhere?  How are you collecting the data?

It would be really interesting to see a running list of active projects, funding, which ones were yanked, etc, etc.  Like Kicktraq does for KS (although I don't think they have any info on yanked projects, not sure).
It's not always the most popular person who gets the job done.

What happened to the remaining 152 projects?  ;)

Anyways. Very cool data  :-+

What would also be interesting is the distribution of funding targets and funding level at the end.

I am planning on getting something online with this data over the next month or so. I am using GO to collect and parse the data. I want to also track KS projects also. As well I would like to provide some way to rate projects and comment on projects.

Aren't there websites that track this stuff? I believe there are for Kickstarter?

yes kicktraq kind of watches kickstarter, then adds projections and it's own popularity based on the number of comments on kickstarter and the like. I am looking for more of a community based site were you do not need to pay to comment about a project. Of course there would also have to be some levels of protection to prevent people from abusing this as well..
