Sorry for being late to the conversation. I've been making molds using a hobby CNC (Taig) for about 10 years. Here is an example of the molded parts (glued together) that I think speaks for itself:
The handle in front is about 0.010 inches in diameter, cut with an equally small cutter. As you can see, the parting line is nearly invisible. Also injected with a bench-top machine.
