I set the trap and wanted to see who had their mind in the gutter and fell for it first, you won.

Up early because we had some huge thunder and lighting storms come over earlier and I was out battening down the hatches, I'm on my forth coffee and about to make another one.

My guess is you'd be gun shy too, dogs I've had that are gun shy were

of lightning too.

Today the FedEx truck pulled up. I jumped up.

Doubt it will be too much longer before the Keysight box is revealed.

Fingers crossed some good news will arrive next week. I started looking at probe options which need some financial planning. The goal is to buy a variety of probes from the 6Ghz differential to the power rail probe to cover the variety of projects I am hoping to do. The list price is around $20k, but hoping to find some deals.

So Carlos, looks like the Scope is actually the cheapest part. The accessories will be the return for HP/Agilent/Keysight.

Does the 6000X actually come with any probes, when you get it?
May be the standard 500MHZ probes that are part of the 1 GHz scopes?

It does come with 4x 500Mhz passive probes. This will allow me to set sail and earn enough to buy the advanced probes. I found one of the 6ghz differentials on Keysight eBay Store for $3400 which is $2400 under list.

In my quest, the signals I am looking at are 4Ghz and up. I need to design for a specific SMPTE specification so I would be nervous about trying to save money buying anything other than calibrated Keysight probes. The cost of bad measurments is much higher than the cost of buying the guaranteed probes in the first place. There is some sticker shock, but I did get the first $50k for free by way of the scope itself.

This is a $50K+ scope, right? Do they really ship such a high value item via regular FedEx or UPS? I would expect it to be handed to him by an Keysight authorized sales representative - together with some handshakes and a bunch of flowers for the missus

I have shipped much higher value packages with FedEx and UPS. They throw it around just the same.

Not sure if Keysight will send any confirmation so I know to be on the lookout.
