Okay, watching Nilu J I Voted Carlos, I think she should have just applied for a sponsorship program seriously, she could have used a 3000 series scope , but in all fairness that`s NOT for us to decide.

Personally and Realistically, I don`t think Carlos is going to make it, the Facebook thing was NOT a good move (from a deserving point of view), @Keysight why didn't you guys consult with the Benchvue dev team for web voting software? Then again this is the Marketing Division, and Facebook is the "Social" part of the "digital footprint" for the company (speaking digital/marketing wank)

Each vote is a decision for what the voter decided. It's a judgment call for those voting based on the content of the videos. In essence, we (all who are voting) are indeed deciding.

I meant here on this forum, the Facebook world vote count are from various sources such as Pouting, Selfie non-engineers that have the power (in mass numbers) to decide the fate of a high end 6Ghz instrument, I call it "Hunger Games" entertainment.

I seriously do not know how they are getting their votes.
Anyone who knows anything about social media engagement knows that the pecentage of an audience who action things is tiny, really tiny, in the 0.1% order of things. That goes up to the order of a few percent if you have a big loyal audience like mine for example.
But that's just for engagement (i.e. the easy stuff, thumbs up, comment, Like etc), the figure drops another order or two of magnitude if people have to actually do something that takes time and effort, like this content where you have to click a link, select the language, find the video, etc. As for people coming back every day and repeating the same thing, not even your mother if going to do that 
Carlos A has had really good exposure here on the forum, and my twitter feed and blog, so his numbers I can understand. The others are not.

To get say 1000 genuine votes as a one-off thing frm just your Facebook followers, assuming they vote 3 times, you'd need 333 Facebook friends to action that request, so that would require, as a rough rule of thumb, about 333,000 Facebook followers.

That assessment is about what I have experienced. I have essentially been full-time on the case since the beginning. I have been successful in convincing an enormous number of people to post and share to others. The total number of eyeballs seen is massive at this point. The number of likes is far smaller. The number of actions is a tiny portion of the likes. People who know me personally are the only reliable votes. Others seem to be one-offs.  Even this thread has had a ton of views, but only a handful of participants. That is the way it is, normal. No surprise.

To go +850 votes in an 8hr period?  Seriously, this is a soul crushing moment. Finally, first time ever, I am speechless.

If there are services out there for spamming the thumbs down on youtube videos, surely there is the option of paying people to go to a website and voting for someone in a competition (fake facebook account included?).

If there is any concerns about 'buying votes', then I might suggest Keysight ask the people running the contest for a breakdown of votes by country.  If Dave's experience is any indication, a spike of votes from Vietnam would be highly suspicious.

see my post on page 7, they're linked to(now removed links, that was an awful idea). They're incredibly easy to use, reliable, and nearly undetectable as they're done by real people with real accounts farmed out. paypal $5 to someone on *** and you'll have 150 votes in about 4 hours. That last graph is nuts!
