Hackernest meetups
« on: March 06, 2017, 10:54:36 pm »
I'm actually a bit surprised that a forum search yielded zero hits for Hackernest meetups.
The summary: They are meetings from once per month to a few times per year depending on the local volunteers. Very casual, drink some beer, have a conversation, the target demographic is electronics hardware and software enthusiasts, the goal is social networking.(not business oriented) Often, but not always, includes a quick promotional speech from either a sponsor(generally the location host) or a hackathon/even organizer and this is as close as it gets to business networking.

Many cities around the world, http://hackernest.com/cities/ my local city (Seattle) tends to use email notifications and meetup.com for posting dates and locations.
If you want this in your city and it doesn't exist just volunteer as a local organizer and the founding organizers will happily guide you.
