I got the number wrong.  It's 1.4.1 (release 99).

I don't feel too confident about the future of CS.
Element14 just published an ebook "Getting Started with Designing your own PCB" (https://www.element14.com/community/community/publications/ebooks/overview) which mentions Eagle, KiCad, and CircuitMaker. I quote:

"There are dozens of PCB CAD software
solutions available to help you design
your first PCB, but three stand out
in terms of ease of use for first-time
designers. I have used each of these
three programs, and I have a preference
for EAGLE CAD, but I am beginning to
use CircuitMaker and KiCAD more often
as their community support grows."

Either e14 is dropping CS or someone in marketing forgot they sell CS.

Circuit Maker is basically the free version of Circuit Studio.

If I were a betting man, the next CS will be based upon the AD18 code base which is currently under beta (AD18 that is).   AD18 is a large overhaul of the PCB rendering engine, ui, etc.

I am not sure if they are going to bother re-writing any of it at this stage. It isn't really broken and I am not sure what resources they have for CS. They have offloaded all support to Farnell. I emailed them direct and got nothing back.

Be nice to get a voice from the company a bit more indicating what the company plan to do? What updates are planned for next release? When will the next release be? I kinda get the feeling no one is working on CS right now at Altium. They did an update recently which was great to see but we literally have no idea if anything else is being done. I think maybe they drag some programmers off Altium Designer once in a while and say bad luck, your turn to work on CS for a week.

A while ( not that long ) ago there was a post I think from James saying there was going to be a minor update soon and a major update by end of the year. The minor update I think was the 1.4.99. The message stating this seems to be gone, or at least I can't find it anymore. I do not believe Altium cares about this product, it has moved to my regret buying list. I think it was just a tool to grow a phone list to try and sell Designer..... Seriously, ugh.

The product is good and I am happy I bought it. It's not broken just because Altium ignore my email. It's a quality product in my opinion  it just confuses me by how quiet Altium are regarding CS.
