I've just had to delete several comments I wrote but didn't post on a youtube video that's so full of whiney ranting and possibly actionable statements from a content creator I used to respect...
Can you elaborate more?
Was it someone in our engineering space?
Was it something they said in response to you?, or someone else?, or just off-the-bat in the video?
What form did the "actionable statement" take?
etc
Just an aside, I'll say it's
really hard being a content creator and reading all the comments.
Sometimes viewer will see a creator respond to a comment or whatever in a way that might seems harsh or not warranted etc. And from the viewers perspective that might be true, but what often don't see or understand is the often dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of times a content producer has to see the same type of comment etc. That can really get to you.
It's practically impossible to not "lose it" sometimes and vent in frustration.
Sometime I really want to tell people to just, well, you know, *insert expletive*, but I have to often restrain myself.
It's practically a daily battle with yourself.
The bigger you channel gets, the more views you get, and the worse it gets.
It's why many creators either disable comments entirely or simply don't read them.
I like to take the approach of reading as many as I can and responding were possible, and trying to help people understand the point of view of the content producer. But often that is an entirely fruitless exercise.
