Is Rigol Promoting DS1052E Hack?

Interesting.

Rigol's website is featuring Dave's blog on upgrading a DS1052E to a DS1102E.

By the way, I love the precision of the rating for Dave's EEVblog #77 - 4.865546 - to 7 places even though there are about 50,000 views. Have they included the temperature coefficient in that?  Dave must be really upset that it is not at least 4.865550

Their website automatically adds videos with the product name in the title. If you uploaded a porno to YouTube and titled it "Rigol DS1052E Review" it would make its way to their site.

Does the hack still work or has it been patched up?

Thinking about getting a scope to replace/add to my cheap 25MHz owon. 50MHz isn't a worthwhile step up for me, but the price of the 100MHz is a difference of $150.

The original hack has been patched, but there's a new one described here on the Forum and it's even easier.
