WTF is going on with Digikey's Parametric Search???.........
« on: August 25, 2022, 12:46:54 am »
Is it just me or is Digikey's parametric search seriously broken right now?  The parameters aren't showing up most of the time.  It's not even listing them in the search results.  I've tried different computers and different browsers with the same broken results.  It was like this last night as well.

Anyone else having this issue?

Can you give a specific example or is it just happening randomly sometimes? Quick check here is ok.
There is a button on the right side "Feedback" to submit bugs and issues.
Profile -> Modify profile -> Look and Layout ->  Don't show users' signatures

Could this be your malware prevention software? Have you recently installed a new one or did an existing one get an upgrade?

Just a thought, I have no specific knowledge on this.

And if you look REAL close at an analog signal,
You will find that it has discrete steps.

Pretty sure it's not on my end.
https://www.digikey.com/en/products/filter/linear/linear/audio-amplifiers/742

You can get there yourself by navigating categories:
Integrated Circuits -> Linear -> Amplifiers -> Audio Amplifiers

It kicks me to the parametric search with 4781 results and ONE parameter option .... Manufacturer.

This one specific category does seem to be fouled up.  Most likely they did not enter the various parameters to search on.  I tried a few other generic things like "LED" and it seemd to have multiple parameter lists.

It's not working. And Canada only gets 3,762 instead of 4,781 results for US  :-//
I enjoy contacting Digi-Key about their website, things like this and they ask if I tried to restart the browser, flush its cache etc. and am I using Chrome etc., it's a bad experience.
I wish they tested their website before bungling things.

I have the same problem here, none of the options or buttons responds to any mouse click, and the parameter menu has incomplete loading. But the problem goes away if I reset my web browser profile completely (i.e. deleting all configurations and removing all customization - naturally I did a backup before trying it). My hypothesis is that my content blocker prevented something to load initially, but its effect remains even after it's disabled afterwards.

For now, if you have this problem, use a different web browser as the workaround.

Sometimes some web pages can be accessed normally, and sometimes 404 will appear.  :-//

Works fine for me.  It shows me 13 categories of selection.
STAND BACK!  I'm going to try SCIENCE!

It was broken yesterday, in my case it was coaxial connectors that couldn’t be navigated to. I had a useless chat with a support rep but gave up and put it off to today. It’s fine now.

It had nothing to do with content blockers or anything. Entire subcategories were missing from the main product index.

I can confirm, I was trying to look yesterday at PMIC - LED Driver ICs  and could only sort by manufacturer, no other filters would load.

Makes me wanna head over to Mouser !

I did that already, thinking yippee, Mouser are a HK company it won't have to come all the way from Middle America like it does with Digikey.

Well, Mouser have a Yankee warehouse and they use UPS so it took substantially longer than Digikey who use FedEx.

Bugger.

Both companies offer both UPS and FedEx (plus DHL and USPS), and both are USA-based with sales offices worldwide, but only a single warehouse. In my experience, Mouser often takes a bit longer to ship, seemingly due to slower processes for performing export compliance. For the part of Switzerland I’m in, UPS tends to arrive faster so I choose that for both Mouser and DK. An order placed on a Tuesday will usually arrive here on Thursday. But when I absolutely need something the next day, then I’ll use Farnell (which has warehouses on the continent) and Distrelec (which has a warehouse in Switzerland just a few miles away). I’m sure there are local equivalents where you are.

RS and Element14 do have  local warehouse facilities, however they generally don't have local stock of the parts I need even alternatives so 6 to 10 days wait.
When that's the case I use Digikey with greater success and faster shipping.
Reality is I have Rs,Element14, Digikey and Mouser sites open so I can go 'down the list ' so to speak!

Coincidentally no 404's today  :P
