There may well be an oversupply of a few things, like AMD and Intel x86 chips. Just looking at NewEgg, lots of desktop CPUs are 30 to 50% off list price. You'll note, when you watch the video, those two companies are mentioned by name. The market for PC components started to turn several months ago.
There has also been a decline in demand for certain consumer products like
smartphones and televisions, so there might be other categories where supply is opening up. But Intel and AMD are the biggest names in the industry, it makes sense for the mainstream press to focus on companies like that instead of Microchip and Infineon.
Obviously, there is still a shortage of many of electronic components. Companies like Microchip have many thousands of products, compared to a few hundred for a company like AMD. So even if manufacturing capacity exceeds demand, it will take months for every component Microchip makes to have normal inventory levels.
