Just curious on how you got the screen shot with the cursor in it ?

I used the screenshot tool that comes with the MATE desktop environment. I'm running Linux Mint. However, if you're on Windows, I think IfranView can also do this, but you have to enable that feature in Options.

For Windows, press [CRTL] [SHIFT] [PRINTSCREEN] all at once.
Then paste in your viewer/editor of choice

That doesn't capture the mouse cursor. At least not on Windows 7. Just tried it to make sure.

In Windows 7 you can do that with the "Steps Recorder" -> type "psr" or "Steps Recorder" in the Start menu search bar.

In OS X you can configure the behavior of the screen grabbing app by launching "grab.app" via cmd+space search. Under preferences the type of displayed cursor can be selected.

Late to the party here. A legal app that should capture the cursor is Faststone Capture 5.3 (last free version).

This works.  But a little scary because MS wants me to use IE so I have to be careful.  I rebooted to make sure I did not lose my browser.

Late to the party here. A legal app that should capture the cursor is Faststone Capture 5.3 (last free version).

I use Faststone viewer and at first I thought they were the same.  After re-reading your message I realized they are different.  Since I have used Faststone for years, I will show my support for them by buying Faststone Capture 8.6 for $20.  Thanks Cliff
