They turn it on before taking it apart I'm just left with a vague sense of what's really going on. I see new gear all the time in the audio realm and the first thing I wanna to see is the innards, man. Your hitting me with all this hype and marketing voodoo and I just want the dirty details.
SSL (I think...) recently dropped a new six channel mixer that they claim is everything a normal size SSL is, which is a serious claim. There's no shortage of product showcases and monkeys reading slick copywrite, and I've seen a thousand pictures, but I've yet to see what it looks like inside.

Needless to say, I'm addicted to teardowns. You could do a teardown on a ham sandwich and I'd watch that shit. :D

I recall Dave did a "cake teardown" several years back.
