Dummy load, did they take advantage of David's popularity ?

It could be, me and some others in this forum started to build our own load based on David's project, so this means this little project has some popularity.

That's a nice project.  Worth the $22 because the fine adjustment will allow a user to mimic very small loads for low power apps which is fairly common these days and makes a good battery tester.

I appreciate that a lot of people think David is electronics God but it would be ridiculous to assume that he has invented regulated constant current load.

People have been making DIY constant current loads since time began and that was around before any mention around this small part of the world.

On a different note, that's one of the pitfalls of 'Open-Hardware', it might make it up there and someone else making profit out of your work, with your blessing.

Really, what is the problem? ITeadstudio published the schematics and source code of the dummy load. Grab them and use the information to build your own, if you don't want to pay them. Open hardware and open source aren't one-way streets. It works both ways.

Agreed, if you don't want others using your design for profit, don't put it on the Internet.
