Just found a video on youtube about the Brymen TMB867 50.000 counts / 500.000 on DC,
the device looks interesting and most of all fast.

That jumped my curiosity, and the new question are who those folks are ?
Looks like Taiwan to be their home base, their web site looks like childish playing ground,
even so I like to know more about them.

Write what eve you know about them.

Ye, I saw that video a few days ago. I subscribe to Martin's channel, so I've seen them in his other video's. I was quite curious myself, never heard of them before.
Website is a bit lame, but the meter seems pretty good.

I've heard a lot about this brand of meters on Polish forums and it's commonly regarded as one of the best brands for the prices they have. Some of the meters reach high prices, but not as high as Fluke, starting from around 80 USD for the cheapest devices. The web page suprised me (in a negative way), but I'm still considering buying one.

More optimistic news about BRYMEN .. they are alive and soon heading at the largest probably Taiwanese Exhibition.

Their DMMs seem like what's branded here as Greenlee. Their B110M has the exact same specs and battery (CR2032) as my Greenlee DM-450.

I like to thanks Mr. Gary Wang, Product Marketing Manager of Brymen Technologies, for accepting my invitation to visit the EEV Blog,
and offer to me one of their latest DMM models for review.

And actually one BT-869 500.000 counts True RMS.
The unit will be shipped soon, but this details its not important for the moment.

Not yet.
For now I will keep doing damage with my pen and my Olympus digital camera.

It looks that the written reviews are still powerful up to a point,
mostly because you can distribute them, by printing them.

But no one said that you can not have both !! and this translates to that the reviewer have to do a double amount of work .
In this case I will start the videos as soon I receive some true support from sponsors.

I had started to explore the Brymen Data Logger software,
and even got a picture of it, for any one who cares to see how it looks like.

Functionality and stability will be part of the review too.

There is several indications that behind the PC connectivity solution,
are the Taiwanese BTC http://www.btc.com.tw/english/index.htm
It is very known to Greece at list, about computer related products.

The communication with Brymen have be restored.
It will come with PC connectivity KIT, and it will be shipped with EMS soon.

Got the EMS tracking code today.

About their Data logging software , Brymen have a policy,
to offer the communication protocol to users, to write their own application software.

And this translates to: That the supplied software are very basic in comparison with the specific DMM capabilities.

I am not a software expert ( programmer), but even so I had request more info about that subject.
If there is out there any third-party applications about it, it would be nice to be aware about them.

The BM869 DMM unit landed to Athens Greece yesterday 24/10, I bet that it is a matter of 2-3 days until actually getting it !!

About the communication protocol.

Here is a copy of it........ and I got the permission of BRYMEN so to freely distribute it.
Useful for people who loves to play with programing !!

If they are using a standard serial port to transit data to the pc it;s fairly easy to write the software.

I have done so for a cheap V&A DMM (also made it communicate with an arduino with SD card shield and log events to a 1 Gb SD card. It could log without a pc for a week or so...).

Is there any link with the protocol?

Yep, it sends data in similar way V&A 18B does. It states though it is a 1.1 HID device not a serial port.

The journey of the Brymen unit did not ended yet, some delay added due the strikes of the public sector in Greece.

The current predictions are: +3 days from today.

Delivery Status update.

The Delivery Status stays frozen from the 25 of October that the packaged landed to Greece and entered at the customs for inspection.
That is 9 days so far , exuding the national holiday at 28 and the week end, a total of six working days stays frozen.

No other predictions.
At list it is safe with lots of Greeks around it.

--Now that you are the undisputed Multimeter King of the European Area Of Operations, perhaps you and the Australian Multimeter King could get together at some point.
