English: magnifying glass :)

for a magnifying glass the Dutch word is "vergrootglas". A loupe is a smaller object, like the ones a jeweller pinches in one eye to inspect jewellery,
The smaller model is also named "loupe" in english.

"XR2206 function generator" from Aliexpress. Finally I will be able to apply normal pulses to the FET gates without perversions.

It is not powered directly from USB, but there is a booster from DSO-150, so everything is convenient.

Previously I fed the FET from the generator and adjusted the generator ground offset relative to the FET source with an additional laboratory power supply. This was dangerous.

What is there to improve? Everything is great. I was about to make it from scrap materials, and here is such a gift. Output terminals and power supply as I need. I always need a rectangle, and 1 kHz would be enough, but changing the frequency and watching the inductance response is very good.

A second hand Molex 63819 series crimper for Microfit 3.0 connectors  :-+
Finally! Was looking a long time for this and got it for a very sweet price.
Just ordered twice the amount for a bunch of crimp connectors and headers.

Some goodies came in today.  An order from Reichelt.de, some boards from Gaurav over at CircuitValley, and an assortment of OCXO's from China.

OOOO, nice!  I've been considering getting a few.  What are your thoughts on it so far?

Tis a sad day.  One of the higher end MV89A OCXO is completely dead :(  I was hoping to use one in my GPSDO and one in my 53131A, but I guess I will have to find another one for my GPSDO

Eh, I bought it yesterday, it still has to be processed and shipped from China to the Netherlands.
Will report back when it arrives.

... have just bought an ASOOLL head torch  :wtf:

... I had one of them today on the bench , with a swollen Li Po at 2.8V, which came back to life quite quickly. And I saw this model has an impressive array of lights.

Could not see why the previous owner had discarded it without a repair attempt (civil engineers?), until finding a new one at a low price - not much more than a replacement battery.

Wow! My sister once bought something like this a long time ago, a hammer with a red light flashing on one side and a vibrator on the other. I have this thing lying around somewhere. The fitness thread will tell you how to use it.

Today's purchase was a FE-5680A Rubidium reference module.  Decided to go down the time nut path for the moment so this will be a fun addition to my collection since up to this point the most accurate frequency source I had was an HP 10811A.
Can't wait for it to show up and to test it!

A new Aixun T 210 solder handle for my T3B station.
The original one that came with had a bad contact somewhere in the handle.

Ordered the 29th for 18€, arrived today.

I can finally use my soldering station  :box:

It was a chicken/egg issue.

I need to fix the solder iron but for that I need a working solder iron :-)
One cannot fix itself.

I can’t even tear it apart as I don’t know how to dismantle the handle.
I started a topic about it but got no reply.

Edit: I didn’t start a new topic, but rather asked it in an existing topic.

A fire, or lighter, or a candle + a piece of copper wire or an old soldering tip might make a soldering tool good enough to fix the broken soldering iron:  https://duckduckgo.com/?q=lighter+improvised+soldering+iron&ia=web
