Well the issue with the probes is that they're dirty. Residue from the moulding. Clean them with a PVC solvent.

As for the autoranging, mine doesn't do that but it might be an odd artifact of that transformer. Send me a transformer to try!

Oh , nevermind , even the metrix freaks out now .

One possible explanation is that when your ut61e is doing resistance check, the auto range switching interfares with the inductive load. Likely (theoretically), this can happen only for load with particular values. A good test is to repeat what you did in the video, but with a scope attached to see the range switching. In the worst case (theoretically) the voltage may go reversed.
