Who trains who?

I suppose it is progress from destroying the furniture to get attention.

Madam Angel at 3pm pawed me at my work desk, "Emm... Hello?"

I ignored her as I was in a meeting.

3:15pm Angel again pawed me, this time with just enough claw to pull at the T-Shirt I was wearing.  "Oww!  Hello?"

3:30pm just out of the meeting, Angel put her paw on the side of the side of my belly as before.  This time she paused for effect and then quite surgical precision inserted a single needle sharp claw into my soft skin... through the T-Shirt, the managed to escape any reflex reactional swipe.

Instead she looked at me, "NOW!  Hooman!"

Turns out the kitchen window was closed.  She was back in 5 minutes later sleeping on the desk, pushing things off it, they even do it in their sleep.

"What could possibly go wrong?"

Today is world cats day.

Therefore I'd like to present you one of the biggest cats I've ever seen:

“Chaos is found in greatest abundance wherever order is being sought. It always defeats order, because it is better organized.”            - Terry Pratchett -

@xrunner

"A stepper motor, a small controller, and a fuzzy enclosure = cat toy! Hey this gives me ideas ... I can rule the cat toy world!"

Don't forget to add a small (low power) laser pointer to it.... the ultimate cat toy if you put the contraption high up and project on the floor and walls.

Have you been on Amazon lately?

My cat has
* two robotic fish which lay quitely until the cat touches them whence they launch into aggressive flapping around.
* a radio controlled car which flings a feathered flag around.  You can drive it or you can let it do an auto sequence.
* a laser pointer.

You can buy automatic laser pointer devices too.

The same here, but my cat Loeki is smart:
She knows the laser dot is not catchable/food. So she ignores it.
She knows the feather is artificial, she is more happy with a real feather without a car
She knows the fish doesn't smell fishy, so she comes begging for real tuna.

I spent ages encouraging the hunt in my little kitten with such things.

She knows the dot yields nothing, but when it appears, her back twitches while she tries to ignore it.  When she is in the mood she stops resisting and chases it around the floor using her claws like grapling hooks on the carpet to move faster than grip would allow.

She did tire faster of the radio controlled gimoz though.

The fish she takes her aggression out on them, grabbing them by the front paws, chewing on it's face and bunny kicking the remainder.

On cat related notes...  Recently I adopted an approach of meowing back at the cat.

This has somewhat backfired on me.  She now seems to think I know what she is asking for and becomes far more edgy when she doesn't get it.

Yesterday I tried, food, wet food, treat, tablespoon of milk, bowl of watered down milk.... cuddles, strokes... but all I got back was "MEOW!!"

Eventually she resorted to taking a swipe at me when I walked past, claws out, as much to say, "Oww!!  Where's my _____"

I still haven't worked out what the ____ was.
