The Little Box Challenge (tiny power inverter) - Winners Announced

Just found out about this rather cool challenge that Google organised, the goal was to design a tiny power inverter with a density of at least 50 Watts per cubic inch.

The winners managed to beat the requirement approximately threefold (143 Watts per cubic inch) with their GaN based transistors: https://www.littleboxchallenge.com/pdf/finalists/56568-Tech.pdf

Amazing achievement. Quite a few clever people on the team. I wonder how many GaN transistors they blew up during development!
