T-shirt designs for anyone in to electronics
« on: April 03, 2019, 11:28:43 pm »
Hello!

I didn't know where to post this, so be it placed here. Sorry if it's the wrong place.

I'm a designer by trade and have electronics for hobby. Nothing major, just simple stuff. The two combined can produce unexpected results (sometimes). So here we are, let me present you some t-shirt designs I've created. Possible some might find these interesting. If not - well it's free anyway. Bellow are general view of each design (as applied on to a t-shirt) with corresponding design file (.png file).

Any input is appreciated!

Thanks!

Some additional info on each design. The design intent as it were.

Cats
Cats OWN the internet.
There is a >>CAT<< rating marking on most multimeters I've seen, it's an obvious choice to
make something related to both CATs and cats.

Clean your tip
This one is about wire sponge for iron tip cleaning. Sort off. Maybe.

Fuse
Good old subject of "reliable" Apple fuses. (For those of you who are familiar with Louis Rossmann's channel)

Get down/No way
Self explanatory. IMO

Pull UP
Based upon "Bro, do you even lift?" meme. (For those of you who are in to pumping iron)
The schematic is a made up thing (though should be functional). Pull up resistor value is 10MOhms, so it just "doesn't pull up".

La_Résistance
Based on the French WW2 resistance name and the PTH resistor value bands.

Short to ground
It has more than one meaning. :)

Shortcuts
Shortcuts are bad. They can ruin your day.

Solder
Yet another one design based on "Bro, do you even lift?" meme. This time covering subject of soldering skills
or lack of thereof. Inspired by how people hold soldering irons in stock images (usually by the tip - not by the handle).

The short to ground could be like "You're grounded!"

"doing 4 layers, won't get you laid"
" I am FET up "
"T-shirt" with just one transistor symbol.

Except that it's wrong - you should not clean your tip on the way in, as the solder protects the plating from oxidation.
Youtube channel:Taking wierd stuff apart. Very apart.
Mike's Electric Stuff: High voltage, vintage electronics etc.
Day Job: Mostly LEDs

I didn't realize the fuse was Apple related until I saw PPBUS_G3H.
:) Inspired by this video

In fact for schematics components taken from Apple schematics (designation, representation etc.) are used. I have more PPBUS_G3H related designs, but those would only be familiar to Rossmann's channel viewers.

@Kjelt
Thanks for ideas!

It depends on how properly it was cleaned previously. I always tend to find some residues. Probably my wool should be changed.

I really like La Resistance! The others are a bit corny (for my taste) but still good designs!

You don't have a store for these right? Just image files?

Thanks for the input! No, I don't have a store. I'm not a business person (this would end up BADLY). These are just images for personal (preferably) use. PNG files are intended to be sent to a t-shirt print house of your choice together with JPG files (so they would know the size and placement).

If anybody needs any of the designs for t-shirt of a different colour, let me know - I'll adjust the design accordingly (to suite the colour of t-shirt).

How about... Easily LED?  :)

I can't say I personally fancy any of those but I think you are getting somewhere... Good Luck!

Thanks for the input! "Easily LED" is certainly better then WLED (don't want to be accused of racism or anything like that). :)

Huh? Mike means that you should never clean the tip when returning it to the stand. Which is correct — you want to leave the solder on the tip when idle, not wipe it off. Clean it only just BEFORE use, not after.

Here is a VERY UNOFFICIAL EEVBLOG 10th anniversary edition. Hopefully Dave wouldn't mind  ::)
I don't think that is appropriate.  Looks like passing off as EEVBlog merch to me.

Quite possible you are right. It can easily be removed at any time if a need be. That being said. It's free and I'm NOT SELLING anything here.

@blueskull
Thanks!

I would like to see some more of the PPBUS_G3H designs. I noticed the rails on the multimeter

Or better, Thou Shalt Not Pass.

That was my first thought too. Turns out the movie says "You shall Not Pass" ;)

Very funny!  :-+

I once saw, at an electronics convention, a guy wearing a T-shirt with a weird opamp circuit, with the label: "NOISE AMPLIFIER"
