Surprisingly good cheap Chinese USB supply
« on: February 12, 2017, 04:20:47 am »

It only cost a pound, yet it has good clearances, a double-insulated transformer, and actually supplies the rated current.

Comparing with what was available at that price point a few years ago, it's obvious that things have improved considerably: http://www.lygte-info.dk/info/usbPowerSupplyTest%20UK.html

You aren't Big Clive, are you?
I forget who I am sometimes, but then I remember that it's probably not worth remembering.

You can just as easily get bad power supplies today, as you could a few years ago.
If I buy a cheap power supply in China it will nearly always be bad.
Just now I am posting a couple of reviews from EU bought power supplies, and they are usual fine.

We all know that and that wasn't the point.

But this is from a UK high street peddler of bottom price junk. Meaning it isn't just a cheap PSU from China, it is a cheap PSU from China with all the overhead cost of it being sold in British brick-and-mortar shops piled onto it. And it still manages to be THAT good for the price.
