xrunner's post:
Notice how rusty that USB header is.  ;D

And the screws on the CPU socket...

look more rust & dust on the USB , network & VGA sockets
like an old motherboard from the junkbox

It's old and rusty for sure - that's why the guy is trying to fix it!  :-DD

Who comes up with these pictures?  :palm:
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

The Return of the Temperature

It's coming back and it's angry!!

Nice clones of JBC stuff btw - which, from the tests and teardowns I've seen are not that great actually. But that's ok, because you'll feel like flying.

"Buy this soldering station!  You'll first feel all tingly, then fly across the room!"

Yeah, nah.  I like flying, but not because of electric shocks.

Not really stock photo, but I would chose better looking board for photos, for example one without mangled pin header pins :palm:

Thought the girl holding the barrel of the soldering iron was bad enough? Here's the IT tech equivalent... (That is, I can see how a photographer and model would have no idea how to properly use a soldering iron, but who would think having a printer as a monitor makes any sense?)
Cryptocurrency has taught me to love math and at the same time be baffled by it.

Cryptocurrency lesson 0: Altcoins and Bitcoin are not the same thing.

Old pic too. Stack of CDs, a cordless telephone with external telescopic antenna, and I think a small answering machine up there.  :P

Makes perfect sense if the printer is a Model 33.

(Damn, just saw @magic beat me to it).

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

Wow, that takes me back, I'd forgotten the cheap wine bottle stopper knob and the perspex buttons! The number of times I cause the paper to run off to the side by tearing it off carelessly though...!
Best Regards, Chris

Yes, the DEC LA36 was used as the console device for most multi-user PDP-11s and VAXs.

I think my first brush with a computer was with something like that - my mother worked for a company that acquired one for accounts, and one school holiday when she had to take me into the office with her, the boss challenged me to a game of golf on it.

Have to say it was quite underwhelming. No flashing lights, just a normal typewriter, albeit one that sometimes typed on its own.

Is that a bent flat head on a screw held iron?
Hehe, spooked my friends with an exploding electrolytic capacitor the other day 😁.

Salacious,  that was called, here in the U.S.

Shameless, used in the higher courts as big, and hugely irrelevant exploitation of women,  to force a political infused case.
Famous, you might have seen that.

Yes, it is a fail, albeit a subtler one than usual.

Yes, it is a fail, albeit a subtler one than usual.

Normally you'd tack down only one of the pins at that stage of soldering so either way would work.
