Had to use shelf on a all-metal rack as a bench at work. It had a 16mm thick 900x450mm AC fibro sheet laying on it because the metal shelf under it was the welded open wire type so someone planted the fibro sheet on there to at least make the shelf useful.
It was near a powerpoint and all I needed to do was recharge a laptop. But it got me wondering, if was doing anything remotely electronic on that surface, what are the static characteristics of fibro?
