Howard Electronic Instruments Reputable?
« on: August 19, 2024, 05:03:52 am »
Hey All,

Long time lurker but first post. My apologies if this is in the wrong area.

I’m a mastering engineer in the audio/music biz, and I work on and build things frequently.

I’m looking to get a JBC CD-1BQF, and have come across Howard Electronic Instruments, who seems to have a great deal on one with a tip included, but also generally has a lot of great kit. I’ve found nothing about their reputability in my searches.

Can anyone shed any light on if they’ve had positive/negative interactions with Howard Electronic Instruments/HEI please? Thanks much in advance.

All best,
MG

Bought my JBC from them 11 years ago (howardelectronics.com), haven't used them since so I can't comment on the support, good luck.  :-+

Thanks @deadlylover - good to know.

I spoke to HEI rep on the phone today and it was odd. They said they took PayPal on the site, and then it was only credit card when I got through to checkout… And generally the confidence level was not great.

On that note, I’m reading some things about JBC’s quality dropping as of late, and JBC’s North American phone number from their site is a dead end/out of service. Just really bizarre. Tough to know who to trust I guess with this particular purchase.

All best,
MG
