What should I buy?
« on: December 11, 2012, 12:59:49 am »
I'm selling my old analog oscilloscope on eBay. (I have a new analog oscilloscope plus a Rigol DS1052D converted to DS1102D, so I don't need it sitting around). It's the first time I've sold anything on eBay. My plan is to buy some other piece of equipment for my workbench - I'm a bit of a test equipment junkie but haven't been able to afford anything for a while. Currently it has a bid for $50 (yeah, it's a really low-end scope) and I'm hoping it goes up a bit.

So, what do the other forum members think I should do with that $50? I don't mind buying broken stuff and repairing it, even if I go a bit over the $50 in repairs. (Actually I prefer that, it's fun.) I currently own: The two oscilloscopes mentioned above, Fluke 8050A bench DMM, BK Precision 2712 DMM, a couple crappy DMMs, Simpson 422 sweep/function generator, a basic power supply, and a Heathkit vacuum tube voltmeter that I fixed and calibrated. Most of my projects are test equipment themselves, so I like to focus on "reproductive equipment" - test equipment that's useful to make more test equipment.

You should include the links to your ebay auctions. And put it in the buy/sell section. This forum gets HEAPS of hits and might drive the price up and give you more money to spend on more test equipment :-DMM
