I proud of myself, I guessed correctly. :D

I won't spoil it for anyone, but will give a small hint. It's probably more useful to me than it should be.

I see a clamp meter mode and safety shutters on the jacks.
Not sure what the yellow thing under the power button is, a bit hard to see. Given the colour obviously to do with the safety shutter.
Guess I should check out the datasheet now...

Dave.

Well  I have record in my memory , the words of David , at the Metrawatt review ,
" every one should had this "    ( safety shutter )

And by getting to Pros Kit , to find any information for my very old one , I fall over it .

Now, we have to find the third manufacturer who will follow this path too.

But hey ... wait a minute ... if it is patented ?  who owns the patent ??

A few companies use a safety shutter,  I noticed some craftsman meters while in walking around in Sears that do as well... example

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_03482175000P?prdNo=23&blockNo=23&blockType=

Now to find a meter that has multiple voltages for testing diodes and LED :>

Currently working with non-binary computing, no reason for it... just doing because I can ^^

If you wanted a good meter that has that function, check these YEWs out; Link.

That base model YEW looks good value at just over $200.

I think they should send one to Dave for a full evaluation.

I've used Yokogawa equipment before, and I know at one time Omega re-branded a Yokogawa data recorder.

I like the shutter idea - one question, I can see that the shutter prevents one from connecting a lead when the meter is in a current setting, but if the meter were in a current setting, with leads connected, would the shutter mechanism prevent the switch from moving to "voltage" as long as leads were connected?

That's how the Gossen meters work, and it's a very nice system.
In fact I find myself using the Gossen more and more, particularly for current measurement (the single fuse system is brilliant), it sure is a very nice meter.

Well, I'm seriously considering one of the TY-720s. If I get one, I'll be happy to lend it for a review. There may be a slight wait on that though.
