When my provider introduced Wifi calling they had a FAQ about it and there was a point about payment and they said that it still used most of their infrastructure which I see as a valid point. And since I have an unlimited bundle anyway I decided not to bother.
Same here. I've got unlimited data on landline.
There's another thing that's bothering me a lot.
And that thing is, you can't get "validity" for more than 28 days at justified rates for your sim card.
And when it gets invalid, you need to recharge it.
To recharge it,one of the method is to use debit card.
to complete debit card transaction, like on any other Indian website, you need to get an OTP on your phone.
To get the otp, you need your Sim card to be valid
Meanwhile I can buy stuff costing as much as my bank balance on non-Indian websites using my debit card
This leads to them forcing you to use payment methods, that aren't preferred by me
Unless you're calling peer to peer I imagine charges would apply.
they still apply when you're using peer to peer connection, Now having a charge for making the receiving guy's phone "ring" might be justified, but they charge you for the whole call.
