Amazing how {mostly} symmetrical those stripes and spots are on both sides of the body like the legs. Do you find it mostly symmetrical all the way down his body?
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

The patterns/dots on his sides are quite different. The legs are similar but not quite the same. And really they aren't supposed to be. As a general rule a fully domestic tabby will have very symmetrical markings, however wild cats do not.
This is a picture of the type of Asian Leopard cat(fully wild) he is mixed with. Generally after the first mix you need at least another 5 mixes with a tabby to fully domesticate. Many breeders try to keep the look of the wild cat while having the personality fully domesticated. So far Boomer is a super sweetie but he does have killer instinct and is very very active. He is super vocal with lots of unique sounds and always up for adventure.

He's trying to urgently get your attention, the food bowl is only 1/2 full and so it appears he's going to starve to death.

After enough hours of causing chaos around the office he finally settled down for a bit, yet still seemed to be watching for action.

What happens when you jump into a tall narrow box to get your mouse?

He can jump out directly without turning over the box, with the mouse in his mouth  >:D
Let me point out the dual nature of the cat physics: liquid and elastic* at the same time; flows in the available space, and jumps like a hard rubber ball hitting the ground  :-DD :-DD :-DD - and Boomer does it.

*The environment is responsible if the cat losing the elastic condition

Since we're on sleeping ...

I made this bed for Maxim when I first got him. I didn't try to put him there or show it to him in any way. He just knew it was his bed.

Smart critters these cats.

I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

Minx diaries update.

You just can't know how busy I have been especially now the better weather has arrived where if I'm lucky and mom has time then we, that is my buddy Fly and I get to go for long walkies to visit moms cows. 2km is not unusual.  :phew:
Over the last few weeks Fly and I go with mom the 100yds to the feeder calf rearing shed night and morning to make milk from powder and hot water to feed them. A while back it was the same daily routine but then we also had to feed a mob of calves in a paddock a couple hundred yards away but to them only once/day.  :-//
That involved connecting a wheeled tanker thing with suckling teats so they could have a drink in the paddock.
In the last few days all the feeder calves have been put out on the grass to get fed just once/day. The ppl called it weaning.

I don't much like that SUV bike thing that tows the wheeled tanker so I make my own way home while Fly jumped on the back for a ride.  ::)
That is if dad's not home otherwise I keep right at his heels as we wander home for dinner or breakfast.

For a good while that dog Fly was owned by me, I mean really owned as everytime she came near I launched at her neck and hooked my paws around it. Mom and dad told Fly to be nice so for a while I got away with murder.  >:D

But one day Fly had my measure, so much so I never saw it coming and while in midair she just flicked her head sideways and sent me off barrel rolling.  :o
The ppl all pissed themselves with laughter and so much so I thought it best to teach that Fly a lesson and launched at her but with the exact same result !
Man that Fly is smart and I've lost my edge now but we've turned it into play where she comes in and pretends to bite me while I'm trying my absolute best to hook her with my claws but wow is she so darn fast !
Then I get pissed off and with hackles up charge at her and that turns into another game of catch me if you can.

So with all this activity I needs lots of sleep and occasionally that grandad either visits or does some work on the machines in the shed, just 50yds from home which is another favourite place of mine when Fly is away that I turn into a big obstacle course. Sometimes there are some tasty greens at the shed too.

Getting used to that wrinkly old grandad now and he's not too bad now he's stopped wanting to always pick me up for cuddles.....YUK ! However I do like a chin, cheek and ear scratch and reward him with a purr if he gets it just right.

Anyways, a few pics for your pleasure. Seeya....
