Fluff. A contemplative cat. She likes sitting at the outside water bowl, watching the very slow drips from the tap hit the water.

I'm the one watching all the commotion from behind the door.

I'm the one which was already out by the cat flap when all the others gathered in one spot.

Time to fire up the ole soggy boot launcher, again.

Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

A blue crab came up from the pond to harass the cat.

Funny! Hadn't looked at it like that--we had a spell in late August where the crabs were all over the back yard...

This one can cost $1000 to $2000 a day to run!!
Our 'cats' dig in the litter-tray for only about $1 a day each...  8)

Diagonal of 1x1 square = Root-2. Ok.
Diagonal of 1x1x1 cube = Root-3 !!!  Beautiful !!

My Siamese cat had to be put down Monday due to a tumor and complications from diabetes. Very much of a bummer for me. I got her from the Humane Society 16 years ago.  :'(

Yesterday I got an appointment to go down and look at the cats they had. I really found a prize. His name on the card was Timmy, but I named him Maxim. He's a Russian Blue, a very intelligent and loyal breed ~ 1 year old. He was scared and hiding for about 3 hours but after he came out he really made himself at home. I can't believe someone turned him in, but I guess it ended up alright.  8)

P.S. This morning I couldn't find him anywhere for a while. I found him sleeping behind my oscilloscope!  :-DD
I hadn’t looked at this thread in ages, so a very belated condolences for your loss.

My childhood cat was a Russian blue named Max! (And the last cat I had was a Siamese.) May your Maxim create as many great memories as your Siamese did during her time with you.

My late Snowshoe cat.

I had this cat for 12 years when I lived at the beach until he died from old age.  I don't know how old he really was because he was an full grown adult when I got him.  He had been abandoned and was skin and bones, so I fed him and he decided to stick around.

He was a great cat, intelligent, very talkative, and mostly well behaved.   He was not a hunter, he knew food came in a can.  He would sometimes make the rounds and visit my neighbors, most of whom knew me as his "owner."   He liked to sit by my front door and talk to beach goers as they walked by so they would pet him.

My cat Max died this morning at 0500 hours CEST.
He came home yesterday evening, injured. We don't know what happened but I took him straight to the vet.
They examined him and no broken bones or internal bleeding were found.
But he had a low temperature and was dehydrated. So the vet suggested that he needed an infusion and
because of the low body temperature he should be put in a warming cell overnight.
Unfortunately, Max did not make it.  :'(

He was a good friend and faithful companion to me for sixteen years and one month.
I am grateful for the time we were allowed to spend together.

This is him, after a few days he found us in September 2005:

That is one of my favourite pictures of him in December 2008:

And that is one of the last pictures of him, dated from March 2021:

I have buried him in a sunny spot in our garden, in a place where he can observe all the things that he loved.

Farewell ol' buddy...
Sorry for your loss as well! :

This was my sister's cat Amaro.  He was attacked, killed, and eaten by coyotes.

I lost my great buddy Stan last Feb from an aggressive cancer.  I rescued him from a highway rest area 10 years ago.

On the brighter side, I adopted these 3 brothers in September.  I couldn't break up a family but they're more than a handful (hint: never get more kittens at one time than you have hands).  They look like they'll be 7 Kg, more or less.
