If the editions were in PDF form and OCR'd (?
), a side by side comparison 'should' in theory show all/most differences,
depending on what Filters available/selected, how good the OCR scans were, how many passes etc
= plan on a few days perhaps on that, for best results accuracy percentages in the high 90s
A quick curiosity search yielded Adobe Acrobat appears the main/only? game in town to do PDF compare, and some online websites
Surely there's some other programs or methods, and without submitting copyright docs to freebie websites that may or may not be suss
Once the differences are sorted out, save the PDF and job done,
and send to the authors as well, AFTER you get their official OK to attempt the above in the first place
..or drop all that long winded compu-hassle drama
and just print out their errata sheet,
arm yourselves with pencils and rubber eraser (and/or white out tape or paint if you're a bit medieval
)
and do the correction revision 'updates' the old school way
yes, I'll show myself to the door again..
