The smile wouldn't have anything to do with selling a lot for several hundred thousand more than anticipated, would it?

Sotheby's commission being significantly greater is no cause for a smile, is it?  No - that would be silly.

The winning bidder for a Banksy painting that shredded itself during an auction last week has decided to go through with the purchase.

Sotheby's said the painting has now been retitled "Love is in the Bin" and authenticated by Banksy's Pest Control agency.

The buyer's identity was not revealed but the auctioneers, Sotheby's, quoted her as saying: "When the hammer came down last week and the work was shredded, I was at first shocked, but gradually I began to realise that I would end up with my own piece of art history."

With the metal shredder and all the heavy hardware in this frame, no one noticed this is way too heavy for a picture this size!!
