There's no point whining about the moderator(s) here.
If you have an issue with any moderator's response, take it up with Dave.

relax! its not only you who have experienced this. you need to accept that, when we are in a place, there is rule and regulation that we need to follow. be it in USA, Austria (not Australia), Afghanistan, Australia (not Austria), Syria or Malaysia, or even here. even though dave hates rules, but the matter of fact is we have it. its in there minds. when a thread is locked, we need to accept the offtopic thread is not acceptable to "them" (RR is stated in the forum homepage), but when its not, we need to accept that there are the "loving being" sacrifycing there selves to the goodness. have you met the other guy with his political correctness? having trouble with the neighboorhood? ;D have you went to a forum where ethical conduct is a chaos nonexistence? where they can quote your statement and put in a thread just as if you are the OP or the promoter of the subject? have you heard a nonreligious chick shouting at you, "i can do whatever i want with my body!", "i dont want other people to tell me what to do?!", they dont have a clue what they did can do to the society... they dont realize the fact that there are still bounded by RR in there country, like it or not. when we mention religious law they say fuck! when we mention there local legistlation, there say its fine, but then there forgot what there said, "there dont want other people to tell them what to do" right? ethical chaos! you are lucky the admin was disciplined in ee which is a branch from science, somewhat affecting him with its beauty and its harmony, carefully crafted into balance by the "you know who", everythings flow according to the "law". you are lucky you are not get banned, just like others or me. you should be thankful, loving (like them) and willing to sacrifice for the good of others.... there you have. ermm what did i say? btw, i saw your post in another thread with about the same semantics to the above quoted post :P to KISS.... relax! its normal, thats the way it suppose to be... real world!

and err, you are lucky you dont have your thread silently removed (not just locked) ;) nvm, its just strengthen my belief that illuminati does indeed exist, because they hate conspiracies so much, even if its in the mainstream. you'll see, this post will get deleted too or the entire whole thread. ;)

.. lots and lots of text ...
The rules and regulations you speak of say that "occasional off-topic stuff is ok" on this forum.

My post above wasn't mean to be a complaint, although i can see why people might have thought i was bitching about it.
I just found the whole thing funny.

But it really doesn't matter. There's no point continuing to talk about this. It can serve no useful purpose. I don't mind that the moderators locked my thread and then removed the poll showing most people disagreed with the lock. I actually find it kinda funny and i will continue to find it funny no matter what anyone says. :)

I second that. Definitely one of the coolest videos I'd seen for a while. Plus because it's Russia everyone had dashcams, and at least one of the other cars there caught the entire thing, and posted that on the net too!
I especially liked the bit at the end, where the police driver thinks it's all done, then wets his pants when it ISN'T all over.
htt p://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlXsxi20ymc  Truckload of acetylene cylinders goes up.

(Spaces as attempt to stop auto-embedding.)

In other news, bad mod whines about complaints about his style, thread locked at 11.

If you re-read my post, I made no complaints merely referred complaints to Dave as he had the final say as far as moderation goes.

"There's no point whining about the moderator(s) here."
This applies the pejorative term 'whining' to previous comments about the moderation.

Btw, I think silently deleting posts is some kind of sub-human behavior. Though I have only other people's observations that it happens here. So far.

I've only seen that happen when it there is a legitimate reason to hide the information - such as when somebody posted a link to a ripoff of a T-shirt design; it was completely removed, presumably so nobody foolishly clicked it and gave them money. Usually, posts get a moderator note added or threads get locked, as far as I have seen.

Btw, I think silently deleting posts is some kind of sub-human behavior. Though I have only other people's observations that it happens here. So far.

If someone posts a new thread that is really off-topic, plain silly, or potentially provocative, and I happen to see it just after its just been posted (or it gets reported), and other haven't added to the thread significantly, I'll often just delete the thread before it turns in to a shit fight.
e.g. I recall Mechatrommer recently posting something about Egypt or something political and religious like that, and there was only one of two other posts of no added value, so I just deleted the whole thing. No good was going to come of that thread, and no good was going to come from just locking it and leaving is visible.
I don't like deleting posts, and will only do it when absolutely necessary (which is rarely, edit and leave a note it's been moderated is the preferred option), but by entirely deleting those threads started by certain people who like to start such useless threads, I like to think I'm sending them a message that just locking a thread does not send.
Yes, the rules are sometimes not applied equally to all people, the world isn't black and white I'm afraid.

This is what I mean in the rules that "occasional off-topic stuff is ok". If someone who has no history of posting off-topic stuff puts up something off-topic but harmless, then it can stay. But those who have a history of posting off-topic and/or provocative stuff will be sent a message that is not ok. Mechatrommer falls into that category, and has been formally warned in the past.
Off-topic stuff was voted on by the community some time back and it was the majority opinion that the forum should try and stay as on-topic as possible, at least as much as possible without heavy moderation.
If you want to post religious, war, or political, or funny videos or posts, there are plenty of other forums to do that, this is not one of them.

I think it just have to be moved to the off topic section, so there's no need to close or anything.

Btw the off topic topic just got off topic on its own topic. LOL

Egypt or something political and religious like that
there's nothing religious about that. politics was discussed here extensively, about "the idiots in power". my post was about general al-sisi who took over legitimate government. possibly an US puppet (or somebody behind) its just conspiracy with no hard proof, and you seem to dont like it ;) or maybe for some reason took it too seriously, esp if its from me. it was a joke actually.
No good was going to come of that thread
maybe its just you? but anyway i cant argue, you are the land owner, you decided what is decided.
I don't like deleting posts, and will only do it when absolutely necessary
yes you do, for certain people like me who like to post "useless" thread or post. but this thread is not useless? make up your mind! ;) absolution is only in your mind you just not aware of it (subconcious). you hate rules, but its there, delusive in your mind, it will from time to time make its way and show itself into this forum or in RR thread or to the community perspective.
If someone who has no history of posting off-topic stuff puts up something off-topic but harmless, then it can stay
i can name one member here who keep posting junks (links) from since the time begins. he "can stay" until today.
Yes, the rules are sometimes not applied equally to all people, the world isn't black and white I'm afraid.
we call it unfair world.
But those who have a history of posting off-topic and/or provocative stuff will be sent a message that is not ok. Mechatrommer falls into that category
we call it prejudice. my thread or posts havent created a massive serious troll, hate and suffering afaik. my intention was partly a joke, open discussion, and somewhat telling people about what i believe is happening in reality. to open people's eye, the truth (i have 1st hand report, not just from a blind faith about the latest thread i created and later vanished), more like general knowledge if you may say? i know general knowledge is also extensively posted here.
If you want to post religious, war, or political, or funny videos or posts, there are plenty of other forums to do that, this is not one of them.
then make up your mind. let this forum strictly electronics so we have a clear cut. you keep deleting every OT threads, everybody will stop posting. you leak/accepted some of them, others will post and grow again and again, even complaint like this (i'm not the starter). tbh, i dont think what i recently posted was violating RR, because others can. but i wont whine if its deleted by the landowner or the disciples (mods). if you feel offended i'm sorry its not my intention. are you offended dave? ;)

err edit: about the other forum. plenty of politics, funny, religious forums yes. but i cant be in many place at a same time. i only pick where i mostly intimate with ;) politics and religions is not my number one, let others fight for it. i treat OT thread here much as a "coffee or lounge time empty talk" fyi i attended one of unreligious (atheist) forum if i got so badly bored, but that place really sucks almost zero usefull information, arguing with them is a complete useless, there is no "interest in common" and all that. i'd rather be dead than attending it frequently. so here i am! ;) if unfortunately one day i'm not accepted here anymore :( then i already have another ee forum ready, but it is a "strictly ee only", OT is entirely not tolerated i believe (even esternal links are heavily filtered). i'll be a lurker so be it. the fact that i'm still here is for some reason even i cant explain, i try to be a lurker here i cant, help me! maybe this place is not so strict, not yet ::)
