That it can be sold for the same price as the 1052e just about confirms and validates the value of the mods posted on forum for some years.
I would guess Rigol is unloading unsold stock. I would speculate that in the future they will discontinue the 1052e and continue the 1102e at $400.
As the 100 MHz is just a negligible firmware change, they'll be able to maintain a price unchanged for a design that's at least 4-5 years old, label it as 100 MHz and compete with the Hantek, Owon types selling 100 MHz scopes lower than the previous price of the 1102e.
Very interesting, so what's the price of the 1052e now? $200? $300? That would devastate its competition if it were so.
Still $399 at Saelig. Now, why do I think they won't sell many in the near future?
