i just saw the contest announcement and id love to get one of those flukes, or the gossen (really no use for 4th place) so i came here and see that i only had 3 posts. im sure this wouldnt count as a "meaningful" post, but i figured id post something anyway, even though im not "new" here.

been watching the blog for a long time. never really get to the forums much, although i did get great responses from the question i did ask here. mainly, i think im a bit below the bar of the average member here, and i dont want to look like the village idiot asking stupid shit all the time.

im 36 now. i was into hobby electronics back in my teenage years, but havent been into it for a while. back then, no real matls to learn from, and no real outlet for components. lately in the last year or 2 ive been getting back into it. the internet and ebay make things SOOOO different now than what it was.

so, right now im trying to know everything i knew before, lol. ive never gotten into microcontrollers, thats one new aspect to me im starting to look at now. i dont work in the field, its all hobby for me. i do do electrical installs and repairs (line voltage stuff) and some networking stuff (wiring hookups, ect, no software side stuff) as well as general contracting, auto repair... ect....

ok, i guess ive rambled on enough. stay safe all!

Hi, my names Emerson from Philippines. I have always have fun tinkering electronics even though I'm not good at it. It would be nice if I can find simple electronic solutions about things I get myself involved with in nature/outdoors(monitoring), photography and Wilderness Search and Rescue.

Hey I'm new here as well, just checking out the forums (after the YouTube contest announcement, I guess it's working!).

I actually found EEVBlog through The Amp Hour and caught up on a bunch of the videos over the last few days. I enjoy the videos and, yeah, sometimes I am like 'but but, can't you see that....' and that's usually when Dave's going 'You're probably all yelling at your screen.' LOL.  Fun videos and some really cool teardowns and such. I really liked the FPGA and JTAG intro stuff, almost makes it tempting to get into.

I've pretty much lived electronics my whole life, started off in the forest mims books from ratshack when I was 7 or 8. Digital electronics came a lot more naturally than analog electronics but I can bumble my way through either when it really needs to be done. I've done quite a few projects from working with high energy HV caps (8500 - 21,000 joule at 10kv-21kv) to silly light blinking projects for people who absolutely must have lights blink to make a piece of equipment "look busy" for the investors. My work stuff these days is mostly working with LED displays and my fun time projects are electronics, R/C helis and multicopters, FPV, 3D printing and the rare proprietary design job on the side. If there's anyway I can help with those areas I will contribute.

Anyways, now that I've caught up on the videos I'm going to be following on the forums as well.

I'm 34 and in Melbourne, Australia. I'm more of a software engineer than hardware but I'm interested in all technology. I only started watching Dave's videos when he did a teardown on the Amiga 500 but I've watched every video after that.

Hello from Colorado (USA). I've always loved electronics, but have been sucked into software development for the past ten years or so (most recently iOS stuff, blegh). I'm finally getting back into learning about electronics -- I bought a new soldering station and registered an account on the eevblog forum and everything  :)

Hey, I'm Slawek. I'm control and automation student from Poland and electronics is my hobby (after third attempt I understood how to use transistor, every time half year break, but I was 10-ish years old) :> Now trying to learn to program industrial PLCs, but most of time playing with small microcontrollers.

I'm Avi, just a hobbyist for now. Mainly deal with ARM microcontrollers and PC software that interfaces with it.
you can see some of my projects on my (sometimes online, self hosted) website http://avi.hobby-site.org:8888/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

I've been lurking these forums for way too long, and finally decided to register  ^-^

I'm Niek, 15 years old and located in the Netherlands. I've been a long time subscriber to the youtube channel. Dave has taught me a lot of what I know about electronics.

I've been into electronics since I was 8 years old. There's only a tiny selection of my projects on my blog. A couple of videos can be found on my Youtube channel.

Also, I love reading the (sometimes) too good to be true crowdfunding discussions  :-+

Hello EEVBLOG!

My name is Arjen Klaverstijn. I'm from the Netherlands and I've been following Dave ever since I started looking into electronics and open hardware. I am a 3D animator by day and like to fiddle with electronics in my spare time. I like experimenting with arduino boards (UNO, Teensy 2.0++) I've recently build a 3d printer (reprap Prusa i2) and am currently building custom midi devices for my other hobby, music (example)!.

My site:

blog:

Hope to talk soon!

Hi guys!

I'm a german physics student, currently struggling with his master-thesis ;)

My current electronics projects are:
- blinky-stuff with real small bulbs (no leds, that is ;) ); A 8 by 18 Matrix, calculated to consume up to 14 Amps at 3.3V
- a passive uC controlled audio preamplifier

Hi, how do you do?
I am a long time viewer of EEVBlog so I have finally decided to register.
I especially like detailed tear-downs, reviews and Dave's explanations of how the stuff internally works. I always loved disintegrating devices into elementary pieces and experimenting with those and now, since we have Dave, it is equally entertaining and much more fun!

Hi, I am based in the UK.

I originally started out life working in the electronics field & somewhere along the way moved over to working on computers. It has been a score or more years since I last properly tinkered & wow how the world has changed. The collection of 74 & 40 series chips I have may soon be old enough to be in a museum  :-DD

Always found Dave's video's entertaining & he certainly speaks his mind. No doubt I will be asking questions & answering some where I can.

Cheers

Hi. I'm a US viewer who's been watching Dave's videos for quite some time now. I'm a software developer by trade, but I enjoy doing a bit of hardware design as a hobby. I'm hoping I can begin to do some FPGA or CPLD stuff soon, of which I currently know nothing, so I decided to come here to get some help.
