Lasts longer than any primary cell, and can be charged many times in it's lifetime. Plus it is almost totally recyclable, as it has scrap value of $5. What else do you do in a rural area where there is no power, and no likelihood of lines being laid in your grandchild's lifetime. If you are a little better off you will have bought a black and white 12v TV set as well.

Tv takes more power, that needs a bigger battery and would require two people one with large battery on head the other with a TV on his, with a possibly of third person to carry pole with antennae.

Most popular B&W TV set here is $30 or so, and fits in the hand, using a tiny 5 inch crt. Runs for days on a car battery before it will not run it.

Some disturbing pictures.. be warned..   8)

This may be an understatement. Some people might not want to see human after he has been crushed under the tracks of an excavator. You might want to make your warning a little more explicit.

Er...that was a mannequin. A real human would be squished.

Up to 4 if you pay the Lobola.............

That enables you to have a satellite receiver and dish as well.
