Those silicone baking sheets / mats are _thin_ 0.5mm is very likely correct.

If this is an electronics workbench mat, then you want an ESD mat, not silicone.

I see the same thickness on aliexpress. Not exactly the thick esd style expected.

How about this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MDO2BGP/

I use these for all sorts of things, mostly when doing glue-ups with epoxy adhesive.
I have some that are 300mm x 600mm, but I could only find the below example in a quick search.
https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/puppy-training-pad-silicone-42624615/
They are about 1mm thick - 570mm x 570mm.
You may be able to find something local to you in a pet store.
Where are we going, and why are we in a handbasket?

That one is neoprene backed, I would prefer all silicone. Looking for 3mm thick minimum.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/403941443769 1mx1m 2,3,4,6 mm, 0.5mx0.5m up to 12mm, pure sillicone

Many thanks, that would have been fine, but they don't ship to the UK!!

Sorry mate, you and the Uzbekistan guys should do with 50x50cm  :-DD

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hzonder-Silicone-Mat-Counter-Placemats/dp/B09WJX4YP5

I've seen at the previous stuff: "Worldwide shipping from China" but didn't see the exclusions.

Looked good until you find they want £12.00 for shipping!!!  Thanks though.

IMHO the time spent trawling and asking would be more of a loss than £12. You could spend weeks looking and not find one. Time is irreplaceable, there’s always more money.

The way I work is like this:

The cost of something is irrelevant; I take the cost into account when deciding:

# I need it therefore I’m buying it.
# I don’t need it, therefore I’m not buying it.

To me, the debate over cost is irrelevant if I need (or sometimes want) something. It may sound overly simplistic, but to me, I find some people over-complicate aspects of life. Btw I’m in no way rich, nor even have an income right now. I simply use this method to be pragmatic and skip the agonising/debating part.

Maybe you could do a deal with them and tell them you’d write a short review piece here if they waive shipping :) - I’ve got plenty of free products when I’ve done reviews.

Right on target mate!!  The 60 x 120 size is even better for me!  Not silicone but described as heat resistant, AS is a bonus.  And, there is an even cheaper option, just the mat without the AS accessories, which I don't need.  Will be ordering that, so many thanks :-+

Thanks to all for your input, very grateful ;)
Now i have to ask: Is it the heat resistance why you wanted a silicone mat?
In my experience, most anti static mats are at least somewhat heat resistant. Mine will will not melt when i touch it with the iron, but holding it down longer causes a small dent and light discoloration.
I have never worked with a silicone mat, so i don't know if they have better resistance.

A cutting mat i also have does melt easily though. I one accidentally had it as a mat when throughole soldering a line of resistors. The mat hat a couple of dimples afterwards where the resistor bodies got too hot  :-[

EDIT: Corrected, thank you. I was not aware that there really are PVC anti static mats. I have no idea what mine is made out of, but it was not very expensive.

*SOME* antistatic mats are heat resistant.  Cheap vinyl ones are *NOT*!

Everyone has their own way of looking at price. I just have a thing about sellers with rip off shipping charges.  In this case, as a proportion of the price of the item, the shipping was over a third of it!!  No thanks, I'll try somewhere else.

I recently order a circular seal (chainsaw fuel cap) which cost 60p. Shipping was £1.95, and I believe this crosses the threshold of your complaint. But shipping is not based on item cost, it is based on how much it costs to ship something. It cannot go lower than the actual cost of shipping! Just one of those things that the item cost of the thing you want is lower.

In my case I ordered two (still lower than the shipping cost). In your case you cut off your nose.

An idea:

Could you not buy some silicone mix and some carbon dust and pour your own? I know it’s a fiddle but it might be fun, and you can make whatever size you want.
