Has anyone ever seen this DMM?

The DM620 "Data Logging Meter" from Circuit Specialists.
Does anyone actually have it and care to post a review?

I cannot say anything other than it appears to be another too good to be true meters. From the fuse replacement diagram it appears to be using small fuses instead of the big HRC ones. They could still be rated the the correct voltage but who knows.

It certainly looks like an interesting meter otherwise. The lack of selection dial for function selection seems a bit of a pain. But if it meets its specifications and has reasonable safety it could be a great buy.

I just a quick search for DM620 and it looks like a cheap rebadge for many companies. harry66 on this forum mentions it in a bad light. I would avoid it.

It may seem a nuisance, but the User's Manual is a poor scan of a printed manual..

I don't know any serious manufacturer that does not have the source documentation of their own product (thus generating a true PDF).

Also, the page says Manufactured in Korea by SMTECH. That is probably the ODM.

As mentioned by Lightages, if you are looking for a data logger and will never use this in high voltages that could work. However, In my opinion I would probably save a bit more and bet in something from a more reputable brand (EX540 from Extech, for example).

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

Thanks for the info guys.

I was curious because that's the first time I'd seen a DMM with that type of display.

You assume correct! Nice DMM, but a bit pricey.

It's a fluke after all.  ;D
Dot Matrix displays are easy to implement but they have ghosting delays of several years ... plus a contrast ratio of 0 (essentially)
Check out the U125XB series from agilent, OLEDs  ;)

Man why dont we have color IPS screens on meters ... Throw in touchscreen to configure the meter but not replace the buttons
