when i search for flux in digikey i remember long time ago we use lotfett for cleaning solder tip, but i never apply it to the PCB only to the component and solder tip,
http://www.conrad-electronic.co.uk/ce/en/product/813400/Stannol-Solder-grease-174083-Content-20-g
is this a flux? why the price so cheap compared to flux price in digikey?

In the box is written in French and Spanish, "acid free". Interestingly not in the English translation...

not suitable for electrons
STANNOL Soldering paste (grease)
for soldering tin-plate,
leaded sheet, and for
tinning copper and brass.
Not suitable for electrical
engineering and electronics.

Works fine for tinning wires or large copper clad areas, but don't use it as regular flux.
