I went to their website just out of curiosity. I have no reason to ever buy anything from them.
But at the very top of their home-page banner it says:

Quote
150 000 products in our offer
2700 parcels sent every day
127 000 customers from 122 countries

If they are doing that kind of volume, they could be simply overwhelmed/understaffed.
But if they have customers in 122 countries, they should at last have experience with international shipment and other languages.

It's also possible that they are prepared to risk goods to third world countries unlike MANY others, but the percentage of honest customers is on the low side. Just a shame that corruption is endemic in those countries.

Of course Lightages got responded to quickly when it turned out he wasn't yet another scammer or victim of South American postal service thieves. I suspect TME have enough of those to deal with and its better not to waste Time Money and Energy entering into dialogue with them (see what I did there?  ;) )

I expect they adjust their prices to deal with the costs of that though, and maybe I am subsidising the rest of the world when I pay for stuff going to the UK?

I have to buy some stuff from TME for a trial... I need some tacky flux and lead solder paste, and good recommendations?  ;)

Huh? They did not respond until they knew I had my meter and they did not have their money.

Exactly. They probably have hundreds of "I didn't receive it" from certain countries every day and often it will be down to things beyond their control, like the postal services just being lazy, slow, expecting taxes (read "kickbacks/bribes") or plain thieves, and finally even thieving customers. It probably looks just like spam in their inbox. They will just write it off as it's far cheaper than dealing with it all - bureaucracy of foreign postal services, etc.

The fact you told them you received it shortcutted this. Maybe they will have a checkbox on your account now to be dealt with as a serious honest customer?

There has to be a reason hardly any big business wants to deal with your country. Believe me it isn't "racism" or anything like that. Wherever there is a buck to be made it will be made.

Well, I just ordered my second thing from them and it arrived in pristine condition (and working) within the week: ordered Sunday evening in US, shipped Monday morning (Monday evening for them) and, despite a 1-day delay at Cincinatti (perhaps due to customs) it arrived on Friday.

In the meantime, there was a duplicate charge (clicked twice on the Paypal order button - duh!) that was promptly replied and refunded.

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

I'm overall very satisfied with tme.eu as a store, the website is fine for me and the customer service has been fine.

The minor quirk I had with them:

My package once arrived with a couple of parts missing, I just assumed I had forgot to order them and went on with my life. But I received an email and letter some days later saying it was backordered (I know they would have been marked as in-stock on their website), and would be shipped on a later date (€0.8 of resistors!). A week later I received a message saying the order for that item had been canceled and payment had been refunded (no idea why, but I didn't care).

DHL however .. I hate them like the devil. Bunch of con men and extortionists.

I ordered over a dozen of parcels from them and everything was fine and cheap, however one item was defective so I returned it.

The discussion about the faulty item was handled quite slow (in my personal opinion), multiple people handled it, but a couple of phone calls speed it up significantly. Unfortunately, my complaint was "merged/misassigned" with a complain of some other guy/girl/company so a courier came to me twice to get the defected item, also they send me two ID of the issue that they raised for my complain in their system (ID that i should write on the parcel before shipping it back). Quite confusing.

They payed for shipping the faulty item back to them, I don't know if polish law obligates them to that, but that's OK.

Once the parcel was shipped back, they replaced the item and shipped it on their cost. That's OK.

I would still give them 10/10 because one can't find any cheaper&&reputable seller in Poland (I live here, they are from here) or in Europe or for some stuff even globally (as visible in this thread) and (in my experience) they don't intentionally make problems to take back faulty items on reclamation.

I'm glad I've found this topic. I can confirm that TME still has bad customer service (Doesn't reply, doesn't understand English, etc.)

As some people stated TME has good prices and fast shipping (in EU), and I've already made few successful order before. But you can only judge service once you actually have the problem, and that eventually will happen.

Btw. does anyone have recommendation for similar shops in EU. Thanks!

I bought a Brymen meter from them more than a year ago.
Some thing went wrong with the payment.
I emailed them and it was sorted out and I received the meter.
I therefore have no problem with this company.

Ordered some parts from TME, at the same time as a Digikey order, TME got them to me (Australia) quicker from Poland than Digikey could from ?HK.
I am happy.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I though it might fit here.

I've never ordered from TME before and I just now tried to register an account. I'm unable to do so unless I agree to e-mail and telemarketing spam. Are these sort of terms somehow standard? I've never seen them from any other supplier unless they hide it inside the terms (which they probably do to be honest)  :-//

This is really off-putting I have to say.

And where do  you see that you have to consent to being spammed with that crap?

Also interesting, where did the telemarketing shit came from? If I switch the website to FI variant and try to register, I do see a different web form to fill in.

That is just a partial screenshot, it won't let me register at all if I don't agree to them.

I'm not sure if I can put in a fake number either, that would mean I might not receive the parcel at all because the delivery company can't contact me.

Do not put fake number in, as with TME you can't change your user account data yourself. They are fixed once registered. (...Just don't ask...)

The e-mail and telemarketing stuff isn't mandatory after all, it was just slightly confusing. Not agreeing to those also unticks the "I have read and understood the following agreements and I consent to them." box which I thought was required. That combined with me missing a field which gave an error too..

Spam avoided!
