$0 out of pocket

If three 100  Ohm resistors are connected in parallel, and in series with a 200 Ohm resistor, how many resistors do you have?

Not free, but US$11 / AU$14 a month, unlimited. I can call them and get 300/300 tomorrow for exactly twice the price. Can't see the point, except for pissing contests.

Dimitri, I get 67.5 down and 6.8 Mbps up for $12 a month after what my company pays me to use my internet.  Wish I had that kind of speed.  I can't justify the cost different, I m quite happy with what I have.  I guess never having what you have means I don't know what I am missing.

Meanwhile in Australia, we're stuck on sub-100 Mbps on our new brilliant National Broadband Network (that is no where near finished being installed yet) and that's if you're one of the lucky few who have fibre to the home. For the majority of the country on fixed wireless or on fibre to the node, you're very lucky if you can pull down a quarter of that.

I'm on a 100 Mbps tier with FTTN (so whatever my modem can sync at, that's what I get). I generally get about 30 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up. I pay AUD$70/month for the privilege.

When they first announce NBN many years ago, everyone screamed and yelled for fibre everywhere, even people who didn't really understand the technology could see the long-term benefits. But the government didn't listen and now they are paying for it. They have all but acknowledged that attempting to use existing copper (which might have been in the ground for many decades) was a complete an utter failure and has ultimately led to a more expensive network with little to no gain (in fact, some areas have gone backwards).

Only now, in the second half of 2017 have they started scrapping the FTTN roll out in areas which don't have NBN yet and instead going for FTTH or FTTC (Fibre to the curb) which they should have done from day one.

The brilliant thing is, once your area goes NBN, you have no other choice of technology for internet (unless you want to pay ridiculous prices for an LTE mobile connection). It's connect to the NBN or go without. Oh, but you have the choice of upgrading to fibre if you're in a FTTN area. Brilliant you say... if you pay for it yourself at a cost of $15,000 or more.

Absolute, utter morons!
