I am a norwegian, and to be honest, the only real difference between norway and the US is that things here cost waaay more than elswere. We do howerver have a great economy, but thats beside the point. I know nothing of any real stereotypes of us, so I find it kind of weird that someone would go to the effort to make an entire thread about virtually inexistent national stereotypes on an electronics forum.
When it comes to the alcohol, however, everything is fucked up! Usually, for a completely normal sixpack of standard beer, 50+ dollars is not uncommon. stronger wines can end up with more than 50% of the total cost coming from taxes.
And when it comes to food, labor here is so expensive that companies like Findus have their fish shipped all the way to china, to PACK IT, and then shipp it all the way back, just to save some money. In fact, only 40% of our food and general resources are not imported.
Our awesome economy has some upsides and downsides, but I can't really see how that is a stereotype!
