Personal development ideas for Entry level controls engineer
« on: August 26, 2024, 04:33:22 pm »
Hi All.

I am a controls/embedded systems engineer that has been out of college and working as for the past 1.5 years. I still consider myself entry level and don't feel as confident in my knowledge and skills as I wish I was and would like to change that. I work at a biotech start up with no other engineers in my field that I can learn from. It has been great for hands-on experience and for throwing me into the deep end to learn things for myself on my projects, but it often times feels like it is taking me way too long. I don't want to feel "behind" or feel like I have a handicap when it comes to succeeding in my role and future roles and to grow in this field. What are some examples of programs or supplemental projects or opportunities I can pursue for personal development for an entry level engineer looking to advance? Are there any courses, conferences, trainings, etc that you participated in that you really valued from and would recommend? Ideally not too expensive, but i'm open to hearing any suggestions. Thanks!
