How many integrated circuits do you "consume" yearly?

Was doing some parts inventory combined with new year's resolutions  , and thinking about how many ICs one uses in a year for personal projects only.  Not counting here production units or anything made for sale, also not counting ready made devboards or modules that are bought assambled, but counting, for example, the ones you bought as a kit and assembled yourself.

1. From Op-Amps to FPGAs, everything goes, doesn't matter analog or digital or whatever, for example, roughly, how many ICs do you used in projects during 2019?

2. Do you prefer to keep stock, or order each time something is necessary?

I don't build much stuff so probably <10 last year. For circuits which I don't intend to use often I also try to minimize their storage footprint and reuse ICs (in one instance even a power transistor) by only mounting sockets on the board. So there is a box with half-empty boards and there is a box with ICs and only a few of each

Probably 100 or so each year. I like to make at least 2 of every board so I always have an immediate backup replacement when things go wrong or a scope probe slips and shorts something.

But how many ICs do I buy each year? That's a different story.

10-100, but most ICs I would use are simple (a dual MOSFET is, strictly speaking, an IC).  A few FPGAs that have a higher BOM value than most things put together though.

Most are just two dies in one piece of plastic. They may promise "near" locations on the wafer, if you are lucky.

It's a circuit integrated into a single package; doesn't matter how many dies there are .

I use EZR32 processors at work, they consist of an EFM32 plus a Si446x radio in the same package, but as discrete dies. Still an IC, although it contains two dies in one package.
