HP 8656B or FLUKE 6060B Signal Generator. Opinions Please
« on: October 30, 2012, 04:40:26 pm »
I'm looking for a RF signal generator in the 1GHz range and two units stand-out in my search so far: HP 8656B or FLUKE 6060B Signal Generator. Does anyone have experience with either of them? Any recommendations or things to look out for would be appreciated.

Not sure what your requirements are, but both the models you mentioned are huge. Did you look at for instance the Marconi 2022?

Thanks PA0PBZ. I hadn't considered the Marconi 2022 but looks interesting too. It does seem a bit more expensive (about twice the price of the others judging from what I see on ebay). I do realize these units are huge. We have one (slightly higher end) hp unit at works with a label "2-person lift".... that ought to tell you something:)
