I've come home this afternoon only to discover that we are having an emergency ski trip. I have a Hero 2 with 3 batteries in dubious condition. Camera sucks if I'm honest. Would like a nicer, newer camera but have no idea which model or even a different brand. Stuck in a bit of a time warp since I bought the old one.
What would you buy?
After my camera model came out, the wrist remote start/stop thingy was released. So have never used one. I want to know if they are any good as I'm used to pressing the on switch on the camera for three seconds (auto record), but I've seen guys push a button on the wrist device. I heard reports that the connection is flakey. I hate the push button because I never know if the camera is turned on or off.
I used to get 2.5 hours record time per battery. I always found this too short and inconvenient. Are new models better? What about a usb cable to a powerbank in the shirt pocket? Waterproof camera enclosure with a cable connected?
Not sure if I'd want to connect it to my Android phone. Would prefer if the camera worked separately, actually. Just want to shoot 1080p >30 fps or even 4K if the files aren't enormous. Possibly some stills.
