Electronics books for kids?
« on: September 17, 2013, 06:09:04 am »
Hi all, I work at a public library, and I'm trying to start up an electronics class for kids, about 10-13. Generally, when we have programs like this, we like to have books they can check out and keep learning, if they're interested. Our selection of electronics books though, is.. lacking. Most are terribly outdated, and I'd like to have a few books to suggest we add, so I'm asking here.

I'm building the class around 'Make: Electronics', so I'll definitely have them get a couple copies of that, but what other suggestions do you guys have? I'm gonna keep researching, but I'd greatly appreciate your suggestions!

Electronics doesn't really become "outdated", eg physics doesn't change, so stuff in old books are just as accurate, more so for hobbyists.

I delete PMs unread. If you have something to say, say it in public.
For all else: Profile->[Modify Profile]Buddies/Ignore List->Edit Ignore List

I always liked Forrest M. Mims III's Getting Started in Electronics for a beginner's book.

I still have my copy.  The price tag on mine is $2.49.  The same book is about $20 today.
