What kind of multi-meter cables/accessories do TI/National make?

@Whalesac  an new member in EEV forum looks that fall in love with the quality of an AEMC SL261 AC/DC current probe.

AEMC = Chauvin-Arnoux France ..  :)

Read the all story here, and his own mini review.

Explanation message :

1) The true silicone it will remain soft no matter what, but the cable insulation are an mixture.

2) The " Standard " version TL-75 , it will had one more soft feeling, in hot climates than the cold ones.

3) The measurement of millivolts , demands the most low in resistance cable leads.
Every extra Ohm on the cable leads, it will lower the voltage value by allot.

That's my understanding ... at list .

I'm afraid not,my friend,think of it this way :-

Across say:- 10mV we have a voltage divider consisting of the DMM input impedance,around
11MegOhm,& the total resistance of the two test leads at about 0.3 Ohm.

My Calculator hasn't got enough decimal points to tell the difference between the DMM reading in this case,& the reading with perfect leads of zero resistance.
Where lead resistance comes in is for low current readings.

Even if I accept that,
those cable sets they do no differ to the point so to justify the title of the special leads.

About the TL71, it looks that some one of the marketing department of Fluke,
wrote his own imaginations at the Fluke web site.

    * One pair (red, black) comfort grip probes with silicone insulated, right-angle test leads
    * Recommended for µV measurements
    * CAT IV 600 V, CAT III 1000 V, 10 A rating. UL listed
    * One year warranty

Maybe they also paid attention to minimizing the Seebeck effect and/or triboelectric effects that are significant for low voltages? Either that or their marketing department is talking nonsense.

I have lost the count of how many times Fluke updated the TPAK Kit in just 15 months time.
This must be the fourth..
