Delayed notifications from security cams
« on: August 31, 2024, 03:26:38 pm »
I have two Eufy Solocam S220 - no base station required.
Notifications on both Android and iOS phones are sometimes delayed by as long as a couple of minutes, and never immediate.
I understand that these cameras must 'phone home' to the Eufy server, then send a notification through the cloud to reach the phone, but the delay has gotten to the point where the cameras are useless for motion detection.

Do Ring cameras suffer from the same issue? Are there any cameras that work directly with local WiFi to an app on the phone?
Would professional monitoring (ADP, etc) deliver motion notifications in a more timely manner?

My main reason for having the cameras is to monitor an elderly person who lives in the home. I would like to know when she is going outside. It does no good if the notification comes minutes after she had fallen.

Thanks for your help
Ethan

I have a couple of wireless Eufy camera's installed and I've never noticed a delay of more than a FEW seconds before we are notified.

   YMMV.
