Don't turn it on - take it apart! Then turn it on...
« on: August 29, 2010, 11:11:41 pm »
This thread was inspired by the following picture:

That's an iPod taken apart and laid out on a sheet of paper, then turned on. The result is the interesting image you see above.

Here's a LCD monitor:

There is something that looks wrong in the picture but isn't, can anyone guess what it is?

And feel free to post more interesting pictures of devices that are turned on after taking them apart.

Nope, that's a 22" desktop S-MVA LCD.

That is one of the few monitors to have an integrated ATSC/QAM tuner, but that's not what I'm looking for.

Those who have taken apart a LCD monitor or laptop screen before will notice something that looks out of place.

Hint: that monitor doesn't have something that most LCD monitors do (apart from a case, of course), but it works fine without it.

Idle observation here, but I'm not seeing a power supply large enough (I'd have thought) to drive a largish monitor.  That wouldn't be it, would it?

It's 12V input, external power supply. And it only draws about 1.2A, although the included power supply is rated to 5A for some reason.

Rather not turn it on, but I found this failure on the street. It used to be an N97, so anyone interested in turning this on, let me know o.0 I keep it in my pencil case for good luck kinda.

Got done doing 126kmph on the Fed Hwy at Collector but not at Base or Emitter.
