I challenge anyone to choose a part, any part, without clicking that idiotic un-hide button, with better accuracy than dumb luck. Unless you search for the exact part number you need or manage to nail every one of the search terms there is just no way. The choices it does show you don't even make any sense. For example I just tried searching for "NPN transistor", a fairly common thing I might search for when ordering for a project. It gives me by default
Manufacture,
Series,
Packaging,
Part Status and
Transistor Type. Out of all of those, Transistor Type and if it's a production prototype then also Part Status are the only ones that are even remotely useful as a starting point. Manufacture? Who cares,
I don't even see ANY of the electrical specs yet. Series? If I knew what series I wanted I'd have typed that in the search box. Packaging? Seriously?! I still have no idea what part I'm looking for and I'm going to want to filter based on the type of packaging it is shipped in?
This is just... I can picture Dave moaning and slapping his forehead the way he does when he's really exasperated by something. It shows just a complete lack of understanding of the way their intended customers select parts and selling electronic components to engineers is their entire core business. It is inexcusable.
